So. I’m counting down to the big three-oh, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, I’m certainly not sad to be a grownup. On the other, I kind of had this vision of things I’d have accomplised by my thirtieth birthday, and, well, not a lot of them are done. Of course it doesn’t help matters that I didn’t decide on a lot of them until twenty-seven or so…
One thing, though, that I definitely have control over is spending my thirties in better shape than the previous decade saw me. So, starting today, on the 4-month-away mark, I’m doing my darndest to lose 30 pounds by my 30th birthday. I’m not really sure if it’s doable or not; I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that 1-2 pounds per week is healthy, and by my count I have to lose about 2 pounds every eight days. I also seem to recall that the heavier you start, the quicker the first few pounds come off, so maybe that will work in my favor, hey?
Don’t worry, this is not going to become a weight-loss blog. I’ll probably post updates every now and then, though, and I’ll almost definitely complain about being sore at least once a week.
And of course I’ll let you know if I succeed!
